The Lost Gods: Mezmarqam

In case I never mentioned this, certain Lost Gods will be patron of or have the same symbols of other gods in Egyptian Mythology, as even those gods often shared such qualities.

Name: Mezmarqam

Goddess of: giants, guardians, pacifism, gentleness, community, unity, love

Symbols: elephants, the shield, the sa(Egyptian symbol of protection), those affected by gigantism

Notable features: elephant head, wears a shield bearing a sa symbol on her sash. She is naturally gigantic even by god standards. The smallest that she's ever made herself is 27 feet tall.

Notable abilities: She is strong enough to crush mountains with a simple flick, yet gentle enough to be able to stroke a fly in mid-flight without the insect feeling anything. She is incapable of feeling physical pain or being physically damaged. Able to create indestructible shields and defensive charms.

Personality: She serves as the deification of a "gentle giant". Extremely compassionate and gentle, she is opposed to all forms of violence and mistreatment. A true pacifist, she allows those who wish her harm to attack her to their heart's content. However, she does not simply stand by while the innocent suffer. Whenever she saw invading forces, she would offer herself up as a shield that prevented the malicious attackers from doing any harm. Much of the time, the invaders would be so terrified of such a gigantic figure looming over them that they would immediately retreat. She is drawn to communities that contain citizens that live in harmony with one another, as she loves to see humans treat each other with the compassion that they all truly deserve.

Notable legend involving this goddess: A lowly thief once fled his home village after receiving the death sentence for stealing from a nobleman. Although the men of the village pursued him, the thief managed to escape and took refuge in a distant temple that was dedicated to Mezmarqam. The priests of the temple treated the thief as an honored guest, giving him a comfortable place to sleep and inviting him to join in all of their festivities, asking nothing in return. The thief was so moved by their generosity and hospitality that he began to question his old way of life. He soon decided that he would seek employment in order to gain a fortune great enough to repay those whom he had stolen from. The priests were delighted to here this, and insisted that the man continue to use their temple as a sanctuary during his servitude. Unfortunately, soldiers from his home village discovered the temple and demanded that the priests hand the thief over. When the priests refused, the soldiers declared that they would be bringing an army to burn down the temple if the priests did not turn in the thief within a days time. The eldest of the priests told the soldiers to not bother waiting a day, as they would never allow a reformed man to be murdered. After the soldiers left to gather their army, the eldest priest instructed the former-thief to leave the temple so that he could escape and make his fortune. The former-thief refused, as he could not live with himself is he abandoned his saviors in their time of need. Despite the fact that he knew he would be killed the former-thief stood his group, intent on defending the temple even at the cost of his own life. Before the army returned, however, Mezmarqam extended her hand from the heavens, gently scooped up the former-thief, priests, and entire temple, and lifted them above the clouds. When the army arrived and found no temple, they resolved that it must have been destroyed by invaders. As the soldiers left to return to their village, Mezmargam returned the temple to its spot and created for the former-thief a protective charms, protecting him from all harm as he pursued his fortune and allowing him to return to his home village, repay those whom he had stolen from, and leave with his head.
